The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches has established the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame to honor men's and women's players and coaches who have been the "essence of the game" for nearly 100 years.

The KHSBHF is governed by an independent board and chaired by Hal Smith, president emeritus of Pikeville College and currently the president of the Kentucky Governor's Scholar Program Foundation.

The board includes two hall of fame coaches, four award winning sports journalists, and two retired school administrators.

The board will select twelve players and four coaches annually between 2012 and 2018. This will be considered the inaugural class of inductees, coinciding with the 2018 centennial celebration of the KHSAA and high school basketball in Kentucky. The Hall of Fame will continue to honor others after the inaugural class is completed in 2018.

Only the best of the best will be chosen for this great honor. If you have a player in mind from your school's history or a school you have been consolidated with, please submit a nomination.
