SRS TRYOUTS

JRS TRYOUTS

DATE CHANGES ANNOUNCED

Things never go as planned and this year's Jr tryout is no exception. I ask that you each keep in mind that this is a new venture for the KABC and as we attempt to initiate this new event, necessary changes have had to be made. Initially, our plan was to get our tryouts NCAA sanctioned which would allow all NCAA coaches to attend. We have encountered some unforeseen obstacles that have made it impossible to sanction this event through the NCAA. The date of April 21-21 was selected because it is one of the two weekend evaluation periods for NCAA coaches(the other is April 28-29—Evaluation period simply means that NCAA coaches can go out and watch recruits play games) Since NCAA coaches cannot attend, we are concerned that some of our male and female student/athletes might be participating in National AAU events during the dates set for our Jr tryouts.

We do not want to prevent any player form attempting to gain NCAA exposure or have low attendance and participation in our inaugural Jr tryout. As a result, we have chosen to move the Jr tryout to a date that does not conflict with the April evaluation period. That date will be May 6th @ Georgetown College. The boys and girls on the same day.

Please excuse this change in date and please realize and understand that our goal is always to create and provide maximum exposure to our student/athletes and continually promote the great game of basketball.

Jr Coaches—I will be in touch our coaches involved in the Jr tryouts later this week.
